Team Keen 2007

"Team Keen" was created to cultivate the spirit of competition and teamwork. I am a strong believer kids need to work hard, be strong competitors and have fun doing it.  With that, I think it is very important that they learn responsibility not only for themselves, their horses, but most important, for each other.  When we travel to horseshows and even when we are around the barn, these kids help each other. Only if the task is took large, to heavy or their are time constraints, do adults step in.

I am so very proud of each and everyone of these kids and they will always hold a special place in my heart.  Thank you to the parents for all the sacrifices you make but most of all, thank you for the opportunity to teach such great mini adults!

Callie is our newest member of "Team Keen".  She is 9 years old, and is proving to be quite talented in the sport.  She is funny, bright and entertaining around the barn, but when she gets on the back of a horse...look out because she is all business!  Look for Callie with her horse "One Blue Dude" aka "Duck Duck Goose" in Hunter Under Saddle classes at upcoming local shows.in 2007.

Emmy is our youngest "Team Keen" member.  She is 3 1/2 years old, has already shown in her first horse show in Leadline and is already becoming quite competitive!  She had lots of natural talent, a love for horses, and works as hard as any of the older team members.  Look for Emmy and Nova at the 2008 local horse shows in Walk/Trot 8 years and Under.

Jeane is 9 year old and becoming quite the rider.  She is preparing to show in Western Pleasure, Walk/Jog 10 years and Under for the 2007 show season.  Jeane has 2 sisters and 1 brother that participate in lots of sports, but....Jeane, she has the special distinction of being the first, and only, equestrian in her family!

John is 12 years old and proving to be very talented and versitile in his riding ability.  Not only that, John is very competitive and will be riding Western Pleasure in 2007 and expanding to include Hunter Under Saddle in 2008.  John will be showing his own horse "Zippin Jack Jr" and several horses for Circle K Ranch.  John is handsome, funny, and as you can imagine, the girls routinely give him a hard time!

Kaitlyn is 12 years old, has been riding at Circle K Ranch for about 2 years.  She owns two horse "Novallegra" and most recently purchased her first over fence horse "Walking Tall" aka Rollo.  Kaitlyn has been showing Hunter Under Saddle with the local associations, but will be expanding her talents to cover jumping and will compete in 2008.

Lauren is 8 years old,(going on 30 years old) and our own little stick of dyn-o-mite!  She has been riding at Circle K Ranch since she was about 6 years old.  She routinely competes against adults...and wins!  Lauren owns...and trains...a pony named "Huckleberry", with a goal to take him to a jumper show!  What will Lauren be riding for 2008????  Well thats a secret...but I'll bet with all of her hard work, she will be seeing lots of blue in her future.

In loving memory of Lauren's dad, thank you  for bringing her into our life and thank you mom for continuing to share her with us!

Marshall is 6 years old and the younger brother to John.  Who does Marshall ride?????? any horse that you put him on!  When Marshall arrives at the farm, he does not say hello to me, he always greets me with "when is my next lesson?".  Look for Marshall at local shows, riding any horse we will let him ride (his favorite is Nova), in Hunter Under Saddle Walk/Trot 10 and Under.

McKenzie is 12 years old and has been riding at Circle K Ranch for about a year now.  She is looking forward to a busy show season the latter part of 2007 and 2008.  She will be competing in Hunter Under Saddle on "Nova" for the 2007 show season. Beautiful, quiet, thoughtful, and polite...don't let her fool you...she is quite the prankster!

Miranda is 12 years old and has been at Circle K Ranch the longest of all the team members.  She started off in Western Pleasure and her first season showing was Walk/Trot Champion at the NC State Fair.  Well that was quite a few years ago, but not much has changed.  She continues with a drive to strive to be better, and has transitioned to Hunter Under Saddle, and Open Show Jumping.  She continues to compete in all 3 events, and will start her "A" circuit showing in 2008 on her new pony "Twister of Beauty" aka "Apple".  Miranda and her mom talked me into giving "a few lessons" to Miranda when she was about 6 years old....and look what has happened!
